Frequently Asked Questions

How long does treatment typically last?

Treatment duration depends on the level of care. Medical detox generally lasts 3 to 7 days. Residential treatment ranges from 30 to 90 days. Our outpatient programs run 2 to 12 weeks. Your clinical team will recommend the appropriate length of stay based on your individual assessment and ongoing progress.

Do you accept insurance for addiction treatment?

Yes. AXIS Rehab is in-network with most major insurance carriers including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Tricare, and Medi-Cal. Our admissions team will verify your coverage and explain any out-of-pocket costs before you arrive at our treatment center.

Is your detox program medically supervised?

Absolutely. Our detox program operates under 24/7 physician and nursing supervision. We use evidence-based medication-assisted treatment (MAT) protocols to manage withdrawal symptoms safely and minimize discomfort. Our medical team monitors each client continuously throughout the process.

What types of therapy do you offer?

Our treatment center utilizes a wide range of evidence-based and holistic modalities including CBT, DBT, EMDR, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, nature-based eco-therapy, art and music therapy, mindfulness meditation, family systems therapy, and 12-step facilitation.

Can I visit my loved one during treatment?

Yes. We encourage family involvement in the recovery process. Our facility has a dedicated family visitation suite, and we schedule regular family therapy sessions and visiting hours. Specific visitation policies are shared with families during the admissions process.

What happens after I complete residential treatment?

We create a comprehensive discharge and aftercare plan before you leave our campus. Most clients step down to our intensive outpatient program, and we connect everyone with local support groups, sober-living referrals, alumni programming, and ongoing therapeutic resources in the San Diego area.

Do you treat co-occurring mental health disorders?

Yes. Our dual diagnosis program is a cornerstone of our treatment approach. We treat conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other mental health challenges alongside substance use disorders, using integrated psychiatric care and specialized therapeutic groups.

How quickly can I be admitted?

In most cases, we can facilitate admission within 24 to 48 hours of your initial call. Our admissions coordinators work efficiently to verify insurance, complete pre-admission assessments, and coordinate travel arrangements so you can begin treatment as soon as possible.

Is my treatment information kept confidential?

Yes. AXIS Rehab complies fully with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 federal regulations, which provide the highest level of confidentiality protection for substance use disorder treatment records. We will never share your information without your explicit written consent unless required by law.

What if I do not have insurance?

We believe cost should never be a barrier to recovery. Our admissions team can discuss self-pay options, sliding-scale fees, payment plans, and assistance in applying for Medi-Cal coverage. Call us at (858) 288-4583 to explore the options available to you.
